New York University Medical Center-Cancer Care Center New York, NY The 13-level, 85,000 sq. ft. Clinical Cancer Center of NYU Medical Center is located at 160 East 34th Street (between Lexington and Third Avenues). The building, which opened in mid-2004, serves as "home base" for the Medical Center's cancer patients by bringing all cancer specialists on staff together under one roof. The Clinical Cancer Center offers specialized clinical care in a patient-focused treatment setting, and its team-oriented approach makes possible a timely diagnosis and immediate referral to appropriate treatment specialist. A Radiation Treatment Center onsite makes the center the only NCI-designated cancer center in New York City to offer radiation therapy in a freestanding outpatient facility. The building was designed with a full-height aluminum and glass curtain wall with a distinctive covered marquee for curbside drop-off. The interior finishes incorporate natural earth tones to increase wellness and healing for patients. VDA provided services through shop drawing review for 3 overhead geared traction passenger elevators serving 12 stops, and 1 hospital-sized service elevator serving 14 stops.
