VDA provided full consulting services through construction administration for 6 elevators in a new 545,000 sq. ft., 38-story apartment building at the corner of 11th Ave. and West 57th Street in Manhattan. The Helena is the first active parcel in an industrial block, and is a commercially viable mix of office, retail and showroom spaces.

The Helena, which completed in mid-2005, contains more than 500 apartments, a health club and parking garage. It features floor-to-ceiling glass, wrap-around windows, and column-free spaces, and includes many green technologies such as a black water filtration plant, photovoltaics, and efficient air handling systems, which brought this project a LEEDTM Gold rating.
